• Water is the most common method of dust suppression.  Unfortunately, applying water is a labor intensive chore.  It drys out quickly, and constantly changes the characteristics of the footing’s resilience to firmness ratio.  It freezes at 32o F (0o C).  In many areas, water is precious, it is monetarily costly, and even irreplaceable.  Overwatering can even soften and damage a base.  Water and watering is often the baseline people use when considering alternative dust suppressant /dust control methods. 
• Based upon a person’s needs and values, various dust control products may be considered MORE USEFUL or LESS USEFUL than water alone. For instance, some water-soluble products soak up and then release water over time. These products simply reduce, but do not eliminate, the chore of watering.  Freezing can be a problem too.  Arena Rx® eliminates watering.  At about -40° F (-40° C), it begins to freeze.   Highly water-soluble chloride products can vanish with the first wet storm. Once applied, Arena Rx® is water-insoluble.  The molecular structure of room temperature liquid “natural oils” are easily and naturally oxidized.  ArenaRx® is a “Synthetic Organic Dust Control™”  fluid that does not easily or naturally oxidize. Still, other dust control products may have deleterious side effects on tack, equipment, the property’s infrastructure, and even the environment.  These products have corrosive, toxic, or acidic properties.  Arena Rx® does not pose any of these threats. It is noncorrosive, non-toxic and non acidic. However, with Arena Rx® “Clean Air for Horse and Rider”™, the sand’s natural porosity remains open.  Hence, the arena’s sand footing resiliency remains unaffected.
